Group G features #1 seed and favorites Brazil.

You can expect many fans to get behind Brazil for the win once the Group stage is over and traditional loyalties need to find an avenue when teams are sent home.

As I mentioned in my previous post, it has literally been my whole life since Brazil held the trophy. This makes a win highly coveted for the Brazilians and others will have a soft spot for a Brazilian victory in 2022.

Quality players like Neymar who play the regular season with Paris St Germain (PSG) have fans in every time zone on every continent. They will draw in many more “Brazilian supporters” before the 2022 World Cup is over.

The regional or historic rivalries within Group G 2022 are not as intense as Group B, however you will want to pick your side for Game 31 when Brazil comes up against Switzerland. Switzerland may attract some new fans if they do well as the underdog in this match, even if they lack the ‘star power’ of Brazil.

Unless, of course, you are Brazilian or Swiss or your own national team didn’t qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
