20th Birthday: how to solve your gift buying problems

20th Birthday: how to solve your gift buying problems

Find a special 20th Birthday gift for that special person in your life. This is my personal wish list this year.

Birthdays away from home

This year marks my 4th birthday away from home. Gifts sent from overseas often don’t arrive in time or even at all. Last year, my thoughtful aunt in Tokyo decided she wanted to send me some white jeans. Six months later and after paying the Spanish duty tax, I can wear the jeans! Well, it’s the thought that counts.

I’ve just had my 20th birthday and you guessed it, I haven’t been overwhelmed with gifts. Either they’re ‘in the mail’ or, maybe once you’re 20 you are expected to buy your own gifts (asking for a friend?). Just in case, I’m helpfully providing my wish list for friends and family. Late birthday / early Christmas presents accepted with a smile.

Friends rallied

This year, friends in Madrid banded together to make my day special – with a birthday lunch and dinner, and a special gift I was dying to get my hands on (FIFA 2023). Fortunately, Christmas is just around the corner for those who’ve yet to ‘come to the party’ so to speak.

Big Wish List

20th Birthday Wishlist in Detail

  1. Backpack that opens like a clam; 2. Men’s sneaker 3. College Cookbook: Easy, Healthy Recipes for the Next Four Years & Beyond 4. Box of Chocolate Chip Protein Cookies 5. Apple Watch Titanium Case 6. Beanie 7. Slides 8. Leather football shoes 9. Pack of Pens 10. Laptop 11. Football Shoe Bag in Blue 12. Stretch Woven Belt

Every piece in my 20th Birthday Collection Tells a Story!

Admittedly, this is a bit of an eclectic collection unless you are a soccer player or a student. Take the slides – I’m currently wearing a mis-matched pair and these are my locker-room must haves. Or the protein cookies – my supply that I bought in August is finished. The pens – just because I’m a huge fan. The belt because I left all my belts in Sydney and have yet to buy a new one. And so on. In other words fam, I need this stuff now. Just joking of course, some of those luxury items are ‘nice to have’ not ‘must have’. I will seriously NOT be disappointed with a single pen (easier to post to Madrid too). At the very least, send the belt that I left next to the bed. And if you forgot my 20th birthday completely you know what you need to do.
